Armed Attack in Fier Ends With Two Dead, Including Suspect

A violent attack in Roskovec shook Albania on Monday, leaving two people dead and one injured after a 35?year?old man stormed the home of his former fiancée’s family.

Police say the suspect, identified as Refit Buzi, also known as Nertil Buzi, fatally shot his former father?in?law, 55?year?old Arben Plaka, and wounded his former mother?in?law before abducting his ex?fiancée and fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Special forces quickly located the suspect’s car and surrounded the area, launching negotiations that stretched for nearly four hours. Despite repeated appeals from police to surrender, Buzi reportedly shot himself inside the vehicle around 4:35 p.m. Medical teams intervened immediately, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities confirmed that the hostage was released safely thanks to police intervention. The investigation, led by prosecutors and forensic teams, continues to document the circumstances of what officials describe as one of the most serious criminal incidents in recent months.
