Berisha's Warning for President Erdogan

In a meeting with parents and educators of the kindergarten "Zubeyde Hanim" of "Turgut Ozal", the head of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha said that the decision to close this institution was made by order of the President of Turkey. He said that Prime Minister Edi Rama is a "vassal" of Recep Tayyip Erdogan and that he carries out his orders in Albania.

Berisha said that Erdogan "considers Albania a province of Turkey", while adding that "he has built a mosque and thinks he can rule" the country.

"One can ask why he is now dealing with the president of Turkey. I want these children to be masters of their country and the decisions for them should not be made by Turkey, by anyone, but by the Albanians. Of course this is the way. It is not the way to be treated as if you are a province of Ankara or Anatolia and have your kindergarten closed. Erdogan-Rama personal relations are extremely problematic, he works for the power of Edi Rama, but breaks all the rules, because Edi Rama accepts that the country is treated as a vassal country of Ankara, but this is not how partnership, friendship is built. Each country has its own interests towards another country, but there is a limit.

But what agreement is there between Albania and Turkey to close kindergartens and schools... "Mehmet Akif" College has students in the best universities in the world. Excellency, there are lecturers in the most ranked universities in the USA and this one closes it. Why, because the other one there considers Albania as a province of Turkey.

I am very outraged and I guarantee you that I will be a strong voice in your defence. All of Albania is with you. What happened is the most flagrant violation of children's rights, of the European Convention of Human Rights that we are signatories to. The possibility of his lawsuit will be considered, in all courts.

When he arrives, he makes a decision to close the kindergarten, wait to see what will happen to the Muslim community. He considers Albania a province of Turkey. He built a mosque and thinks he can rule Albania, no, sir, we will pay for that mosque one by one, and Albania cannot be ruled.

By blindly investing in one of his slaves in Tirana, this is not in the prospective interest of the relations between the two countries, but the opposite, Turkish interests cannot be respected in this country", said Berisha.
