Braçe Signals Bid for Tirana Mayor as Socialist Backing Comes into Focus
Socialist lawmaker Erion Braçe has expressed his ambition to run for mayor of Tirana, calling for support from party members across the capital.
Speaking during a meeting of the Socialist Party’s parliamentary group, Braçe reportedly said that existing concerns among socialists remain unresolved and require a different kind of organization. He emphasized that he would seek backing not only from Unit 5, but from supporters throughout the city.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama is said to continue favoring Ogerta Manastirliu as the most potential and preferred candidate for the Tirana mayoral race.
Braçe recently shifted his political base from Divjakë to Unit No. 5 in Tirana, where in the May 11 elections he secured more than 23,000 votes, strengthening his position in the capital.
