The Representatives of the Council of Albanian Ambassadors held a productive meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation in Albania, Ambassador Silvio Gonzato.

During the meeting, we engaged in an open discussion regarding Albania’s EU integration process, emphasizing the importance of accelerating civil society’s engagement in this vital endeavor. The Council offered its expertise and commitment to supporting these efforts.

The Council of Albanian Ambassadors outlined how it can play a pivotal role in supporting state institutions’ preparatory work, particularly through initiatives aimed at educating and empowering the younger generation. It stressed that EU integration is also about fostering people-to-people connections and public involvement, and not only merely fulfilling formal accession criteria.

The Council and the EU Delegation agreed on the importance of better informing and engaging public opinion on the integration process. 

The regional dimension of the EU integration process for the WB countries and the importance of further fostering the cooperation among them were also highlighted in our meeting today. 

The CAA reiterated its steadfast commitment to collaborating with all relevant stakeholders to achieve our shared goals.
