Police Dismantle Suspected Cyber Fraud Call Center in Tirana
Albanian authorities have uncovered a suspected cyber fraud call center operating on Gjergj Fishta Boulevard in Tirana, leading to the arrest of four alleged organizers and the prosecution of 49 employees found working on the premises.
According to police, the operation, codenamed “Hold On,” was launched following intelligence indicating that the second floor of a commercial building was being used to conduct computer-based fraud schemes. The investigation was carried out by the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Unit in cooperation with the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit of the Tirana Police Directorate, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities arrested four individuals identified by their initials as E.K., 28, A.J., 21, E.D., 21, and M.M., 19. Investigators believe the suspects were responsible for managing the operation and supervising groups of employees involved in the alleged fraudulent activities.
During the raid, police also found 49 workers actively operating within the call center. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against them, while they remain under investigation.
Law enforcement officers seized a total of 107 electronic devices believed to have been used in the scheme, including 94 computers, 11 mobile phones, and 2 iPads, along with additional materials considered relevant to the investigation.
Police described the facility as a workspace equipped with dozens of operational stations allegedly used to carry out cyber-enabled fraud. Authorities have not yet disclosed the full scope of the suspected scheme or the potential number of victims.
The case has been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further legal action, while investigations remain ongoing.
