Cannabis Cultivation, Gledis Nano Pays Unexpected Visit in Vlora
The Director of the State Police Gledis Nano was on an unexpected visit to the village of Kote in Vlora where he spoke about the phenomenon of cannabis grow houses in Albania.
Nano said that OSHEE has no report on this while stressing that those who abuse the office will face the force of law. He added that territorial controls will continue with drones and helicopters.
"We are facing houses where cannabis is grown with bulbs and OSHEE has no report on that. I remind you that anyone who abuses duty will face the force of law. Also, territorial controls will continue with drones and helicopters. I am not here to blackmail you, but control should be exercised with OSHEE for the identification of drug laboratories", said Nano.
Number one of the police said that the striking force of the police will bring a decrease in crime but also a change in the perception of external partners. He recalled the assassination of Deputy Commissioner Saimir Hoxha on duty, saying that the police is the institution that has paid the most for the fight against cannabis.
"The striking force of the police against this criminal activity will bring a decrease in crime but also a change in the perception of our international partners. Of all the institutions, the state police have paid the most for the fight against cannabis. We lost a police officer last year, who was killed on duty," said Nano.
He challenged criminal groups by stressing that there are no powerful groups but these are myths on the part of dealing with narcotics cultivation. "There are no powerful groups, these are myths created by those who deal with narcotics cultivation," he said.
