Croatia Refuses to Recognize Albania’s Road Code Changes, Drivers’ Next Action
Head of the General Directorate of Road Transport Services (DPSHTRR) in Albania, Blendi Gonxhe, has issued an important announcement on Friday for drivers traveling in transit through Croatia.
On the social networks, he said that drivers who are equipped with a technical inspection certificate of the vehicle, deadlines of which have expired during the last 12 months, should go ahead to the regional directorates of DPSHTRR to put the stamp with the new deadline.
Fortunately for the citizens, this action does not cause them any additional fees, Gonxhe explained.
“"For drivers who can travel to Croatia in transit, due to a misinterpretation of their border police, if you have a certificate of technical control (testing) of the vehicle that has expired (SGS certificates) and you are in the period of +12 months that adds as a deadline the amended Road Code, YOU MUST go to the regional directorates of DPSHTRR to put the stamp with the new extended deadline in the vehicle circulation permit! This action does not incur any additional fees!
DPSHTRR regrets the obstruction of the Croatian authorities at the border because no other border has issued such excuses for crossing blockades! All other states have recognized the changes in our Road Code that have been officially transmitted to them, understanding and not obstructing the citizens!
In any case, we advise you to carefully look at the validity of the vehicle driver's documents and the vehicle circulation, before each trip abroad”, declared the Director of Road Transport.
