DP Accuses Govt of Attacking Businesses Based on Political Convictions
The Democratic Party denounced this Wednesday what it calls a selective attack by the government to businesses that declared themselves on the side of the DP.
In a public appearance to the media, Flamur Hoxha, Secretary for Business Climate, said that many businesses are being fined and treated as enemies by the government, due to political convictions.
Among other things, he said that the Democratic Party will be on the side of every entrepreneur who works to grow the economy.
“Corruption, clientelism, fines have worsened the state of business, but many of them are in this period under constant attack by the government as political opponents. The denunciations received by the Democratic Party testify to a selective government campaign against businesses that declared themselves in the pro-change election campaign and sided with the Democratic Party.
Today, many of these businesses are being treated as enemies. Through fines in municipal offices and taxes, revenge is being attempted by pressure, submission, or bankruptcy of many businesses in Tirana and some of the main cities of the country. The Democratic Party calls on the government to stop this primitive practice. Businesses should be left alone to work amid so many difficulties created by Edi Rama's misgovernment.
We urge businesses to reject pressure from anyone! The Democratic Party will be on the side of every entrepreneur working to grow the economy. Political fines are unacceptable! They ruin the country's business and economy.
Selective strikes, treating businesses as enemies and political opponents do not solve Edi Rama's problems. He is the Prime Minister of a minority emerging from an election massacre, with an economy in crisis, with very little foreign investment and the lowest historical trust from businesses,†Hoxha said.
