DP Believes PM Wants to Cover Failure by 'Forcing' Students, Lecturers to Get Covid Jab
Former and elected MP of Democratic Party (DP), Luçiano Boçi has commented Thursday on the news given by Prime Minister Edi Rama, in line with which students and professors will have to get the COVID-19 jab, otherwise they will not enter the auditorium, saying that the Head of Government arrogantly seeks to cover failures by making binding statements.
In his statement, Boçi said that so far the government has not taken any measures to cope with the situation caused by COVID-19, as the infection rates these days have increased significantly.
Among other things, the Democrat added that he will receive the coronavirus vaccine and that non-vaccination was not part of my neglect, but his turn has not come yet as a lecturer, because he does not want to get the shot as a politician.
Moreover, Boçi spoke about the National Council of the Democratic Party, which is expected to convene on Monday, and stressed that no surprises are expected next week with the formation of the new “Rama 3†government.
“I have not been vaccinated, I think that the citizen should choose the time and the obligation himself. We are still talking about low vaccination figures, and no mandatory declarations should be made. Arrogantly he himself seeks to cover it with binding statements.
It is advisable for the lecturers and students to be vaccinated, as we requested with the teachers. I wonder why so many months late we come up with a completely late statement.
It seems that it has become a ritual that only Rama declares the ministers to be silent. He thinks this will continue.
There are no measures by the government. The Committee of Experts did not make any changes. Here a match must be found between the alarm of the government and the prime minister. There is no reconciliation of civil emergencies, as in the case of the pandemic.
Students and faculty should have been vaccinated in time. We hope and wish that the situation will be easy and that people will understand the importance of vaccination.
We as a party have not been against vaccination, but the government must find a way to access certain categories. There has been no definite government policy on vaccines. It should have been the government that should have guided them.
There would be a demand from people today to be vaccinated. We have restraints from EU countries and travel is conditional on vaccination passportsâ€, stated the Former MP of DP.
