DP Seeks Dismissal of Parliament Speaker

The parliamentary group of the Democratic Party has demanded the dismissal of the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, after Thursday's session, saying that she denied the MPs to discuss the issues included in the Agenda.

In the DP announcement, it is said that Nikolla was forced by Prime Minister Edi Rama to close the parliament, adding that this was an unprecedented action in these 32 years of democracy.

Among other things, DP accuses Nikolla of "desecrating parliamentarism by undermining the democratic functioning of the Parliament".

"Today Edi Rama, caught in the act by American justice for having bribed and collaborated with an FBI agent connected to Russia, not only hid from the Assembly, but forced Lindita Nikolla to close the Parliament.

Today's action of the Speaker of the Parliament is an unprecedented act in 32 years of democracy. In flagrant violation of the Regulation, the Speaker of the Parliament denied the right to the MPs to discuss the issues included in the Agenda, desecrating parliamentarism and undermining the democratic functioning of the Parliament.

While the American justice destroyed Edi Rama politically, proving before the whole world, his corrupt relationship with an FBI official, connected to Russia, the Speaker annihilated the Parliament on behalf of Edi Rama.

Also, as of today, the Parliament of Albania has lost the opportunity to function democratically, and only Edi Rama and Lindita Nikolla are responsible for this.

Due to the flagrant violation of the Regulation, the undermining of parliamentarism and the democratic functioning of the Assembly, the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party, based on point 4 of Article 114 of the Regulation, has decided to start the procedure for the dismissal of the Speaker of the Parliament," it is said in the announcement.
