PM Rama addressing the Tirana Economic Forum

Economy Stable, FDI Continues to Grow; PM

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that Albania guarantees stability and clarity to attract foreign investments.

Rama was present on Wednesday at the “Tirana Economic Forum”, a meeting with international entrepreneurs and experts, organized under the auspices of the “Delphi Forum”, to discuss the development opportunities offered by Albania.

The Prime Minister emphasized that foreign direct investment in 2024 is expected to reach €1.58 billion, the highest level ever recorded, and the trend is expected to continue growing in 2025.

“Capital does not choose randomly, but goes where there is stability, clarity, and direction. Today, Albania is precisely this destination, that is, a country, a destination with stability, clarity, and direction,” said Rama.

The Prime Minister emphasized that reality has changed and Albania today is no longer seen as a distant corner on the map, but as a place where things happen, where reforms are not promises, but practices, and where transformations and transformations are not slogans but daily facts.

“Our country stands as a pillar of stability and a growing economy. We have opened all the chapters of negotiations with the EU in record time. We have doubled GDP. We also have a growing tourism sector, and it is dominating the infrastructure from ports to railways. We are pushing the digital transformation at a dizzying speed,” Rama added.

The Prime Minister emphasized that we are doing everything by fighting corruption and modernizing the state, while salaries are increasing, and the military industry is reborn and starting with some very good steps.

"Nothing happens by accident, and this is happening step by step between work and trust. Our growth story is not quantitative, but qualitative. We are building an economy that is measured not only by volume, but by values, by productivity and innovation," Rama added.

Rama also stated that “Albania has never been closer to the EU than today, so investors must understand that the moment is now”.

“We welcome partnerships that offer knowledge, experts, and innovation. Investing today means entering tomorrow’s market, and we invite everyone to engage in four strategic pillars that will define our next 10 years,” stated the Prime Minister.

One of these strategic sectors, according to him, is “green energy, with one of the highest shares of renewable energy in the world and a clear ambition to become not only a net exporter, but also a regional energy hub”.

Rama also stated that another pillar has to do with modern infrastructure, which will turn Albania into a logistical crossroads between the Balkans and Europe. “Quality and sustainable tourism, where natural beauty merges with heritage and authenticity to create year-round destinations with high values ??and high standards,” he said.

Another area of ??interest for foreign investment, for Prime Minister Rama, is “technology and innovation”.

“With a growing ecosystem of start-ups, talents in IT, Artificial Intelligence, FinTech, and creative industries that shape the new economy. These are the sectors where Albania is moving fast and where the government is ready to support investors with fiscal incentives,” he stressed.

Rama said that “we want partners and not passers-by”. “Our invitation is very simple: believe in this Albania that is rising, invest in this Albania that is transforming, become part of the success story that we are building, before it is too late. Albania is not very big, so run and hurry before the spaces are closed,” he stressed.
