Ergys Agasi Arrested After Eight Months on the Run, Police Release Images of the Operation
Businessman Ergys Agasi, one of the main suspects in the SPAK investigation into AKSHI tenders, has been arrested in Durrës after approximately eight months on the run.
Agasi was apprehended on Wednesday, August 26, in the Plepa area of Durrës, following an operation conducted by BKH investigators with the support of operational police forces. Police also arrested Uljan Shpataraku, who was traveling in the same vehicle as Agasi.
The arrest marks a major development in the case. SPAK had issued an arrest warrant for Agasi on December 16, 2025, after investigators linked him to an alleged scheme involving the manipulation of public procurement procedures at AKSHI.
According to reports on the investigation, the allegations against Agasi include participation in a structured criminal group, illegal competition, violation of equality in public tenders, unlawful deprivation of liberty and money laundering. The case also involves allegations concerning the intimidation and alleged kidnapping of businessman Gerond Meçe, who had challenged tender procedures.
