Tensions escalated outside the Ministry of Education as protesters set fire to trash bins and lit flares, creating several fires in the middle of the street during the demonstration.

Protesters also set off smoke devices, adding to the increasingly tense atmosphere at the scene.

The escalation follows earlier confrontations between students and supporters of Albania’s opposition Democratic Party (PD), amid disagreements over the political involvement of opposition lawmakers in the demonstration.

Police and security forces remain on high alert, monitoring the situation closely. However, authorities have not yet intervened, and no clashes between protesters and police have been reported.

The situation remains tense outside the ministry as the demonstration continues.
