Ergys Agasi Arrives at Albania’s Special Court for Security Measures Hearing
Ergys Agasi has arrived at Albania’s Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK-related court), where a hearing will be held to review the security measure imposed against him.
Agasi appeared at the court accompanied by a heavy security presence. His lawyer, Maks Haxhia, had arrived at the court earlier.
Agasi had previously been placed under the security measure of pretrial detention in absentia and had been declared wanted by authorities.
During Thursday’s hearing, the court is expected to examine the security measure previously imposed against him. The proceeding concerns the appropriate security measure and does not, at this stage, determine Agasi’s guilt or innocence.
The measure may be challenged and subject to further review as the legal proceedings continue. Any criminal responsibility will ultimately be determined on the basis of the evidence presented and the court’s assessment.
