EU Confirms Kurti-Vucic Meeting in Ohrid
The President of Serbia, Aleksandër Vucic, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, confirmed that they will meet in Ohrid on March 18 as part of the dialogue between the two countries, that is being developed with the mediation of the European Union.
The news was announced by the European Service for Foreign Affairs (EEAS), while the center of the meeting will be the finalization of the Implementing Annex to the Agreement on the Path to Normalization of Relations between Kosovo and Serbia, according to the EEAS.
Borrell and the EU's special representative for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajçak, will first have separate meetings with Vucic and Kurti, and then the joint tripartite meeting will follow.
Meanwhile, Lajçak spoke to the media after the meeting he had this Thursday with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti. Lajcak said that the parties must also agree on the Implementation Annex, otherwise the agreement will not be binding.
"We must agree on how it should be implemented. Otherwise it will not be binding. We had a constructive and very important conversation with Kurti. I also met the president. The main purpose of this meeting is how Kosovo sees the implementation. This meeting fulfilled my expectations in this context", said Lajcak.
He has indicated that he will be in Belgrade for the same purpose.
"I will also be in Belgrade on Monday and Tuesday to see how Serbia sees this work", added Lajçak.
