Ex-Deputy Minister Responds to Accusations over Incinerators' Affair

Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj has responded to the accusations published in the media for his involvement in incinerators' affair.

Ahmetaj rejected all claims that he paid his holidays with Klodian Zoto's card.

"I didn't pay with Zota's card, it's pure speculation. I have not traveled with Zoto", said Ahmetaj.

Ahmetaj also rejected that he is involved in the procedures for the incinerators, that of Tirana, Elbasan and Fier.

"From the legal point of view, it is null. I am telling you that this letter is legally null and void. But even if it had been created, it is not part of the procedure. If we're going for populism, it's simple, I can look like a movie character. This letter is null, since it did not produce a government decision, so it has nothing to do with the procedure. So Arben Ahmetaj was not part of the procedure at the Elbasan incinerator, neither Tirana nor Fier. As the Minister of Finance at that time, having no part in the procedure at all," said Ahmetaj.
