Fier Execution, Businessman’s Murderers Might Be Contract Killers

A mafia assassination was registered in the city of Fier in the late hours of Saturday evening, where a 57-year-old businessman was targeted, and after the event, the Police accompanied many people, but none of them gave significant evidence about the event, while the possibility that the perpetrators are paid killers is not ruled out.

At the time of the shooting, Demir Backa was in his car and died a few moments later at the city hospital. At around 20:40, in the place called 'QTU Roundabout', it is suspected that from a vehicle type 'Benz' was shot with a firearm the citizen DB, 57 years old, who was inside his vehicle type 'Audi' and as a result of the received wounds he died in the Hospital of Fier.

"Immediately the services of the Fier Police Commissariat, the Special Force 'Shqiponja' and 2 groups of FNSH went to the scene and are combing the area to catch the perpetrator", explained the local police.

At least two people fired at the 57-year-old, which means that the assassination was well-organized in advance. After firing in the direction of Baçka, the vehicle of the killers left for the road axis in the direction of Vlora. The vehicle was later found burnt, a well-known method by criminal groups to lose track. The "Benz" type vehicle, according to the Police, was found being chased near the village of Daullas. "In the village of Daullas, a 'Benz' type car was found burned, which is suspected to belong to the perpetrators", explained the local police.

In the vehicle type "C Class" with luggage that was found burned near the "Bay-pass" of Fier, the Police seized two firearms, which are suspected to have been used for the execution of the 57-year-old. It is a Kalashnikov-type weapon and a pistol. The weapons were sent to the Scientific Police laboratory where they will undergo expertise to find out if they have been used in other criminal events. After the assassination, law enforcement officers found and seized 16 cartridges.

After the event, the Fier Police, the Special Force "Eagle" and 2 groups of FNSH went to the scene and started combing the area to catch the perpetrators, but without success. Meanwhile, the first suspicions show that the perpetrators of the execution may have long ago retained their target. The victim was in a nearby cafe and as soon as he was separated from his friends, he got into the car to go home.

The moment he was shot, he was in front of the shopping center where he had parked the vehicle and was waiting to leave. The perpetrators used this moment to shoot in their direction. The assassination attempt was recorded at a time when the city streets were crowded, but this did not stop the perpetrators from firing automatic weapons at the 57-year-old. Over 15 bullets were fired in the direction of the victim, who was unprepared for this attack, as he could not maneuver nor try to leave.

The police were informed by witnesses of the case, while the traffic patrol of the Traffic Police was nearby. Although they tried to help the 57-year-old by sending him to the hospital on time, the white shirts said he had no chance of surviving as the wounds were fatal.

The family has experienced many tragedies due to the murders and the last was 57-year-old Demir Backa. After Backa died at the hospital, there were moments of tension between family members and law enforcement. In this video of "Panorama Online" are shown moments of tension between the relatives of the victim and the blue uniforms. The relatives of the 57-year-old address the "blues" with the words: "Do not come near, I will kill you", "We do not need a state". "You were there and they killed him", "You were there, how can you not be ashamed", "They killed a businessman".

Local police still do not have an investigation track for the mafia-style assassination that was recorded in the center of the city of Fier. There are many tracks, from those for revenge, to conflicts over business issues.

But who is Demir Backa? The victim is not recognized as a problematic person in his hometown or has been involved in criminal events. But what is known so far is a conflict between him and an influential person and subject of OFL in the city of Fier, a conflict registered a few months ago. A second track that could be related to the murder is also a conflict over a part of the lagoon in Gotull of Lushnja.

An area of ??about 200 hectares has been given as a concession and some time ago there was a conflict between the person who took it with the concession, A. P. and the 57-year-old killed with a firearm, Demir Backa. The third track relates again to property issues. Backa had hundreds of hectares of forested land in Darëzeza and in this area some buildings built by the inhabitants were destroyed. Demir Backa, known as Dem Backa, was the owner of the Bar-Restaurant "Piazza" in Fier.

The business has been registered in his name in the BCC since 2013. Backa was the brother of a former member of the Fier gang who was killed in 1997, Medi Backa, known as Buc Backa. Buc Backa was killed in the Levan massacre, along with 23 other people, but it is not known if the murder of Demir Baçka is related to this massacre.

The Levan massacre is considered the largest that occurred during the 1997 riots where in still unclear circumstances 24 people were killed in a gun battle that lasted two hours. Another track is also related to a crime committed 23 years ago. In 1998, the 57-year-old was executed by her sister and her husband near the Music School in Fier.
