Five Shkodër Police Officers Suspended from Duty

The Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police has suspended from duty, 5 police officers of the structures under the Shkodra Local Police Directorate. 

Edmond Pepkolaj (in charge of the Section for Criminal Archives and Information Quality, in Shkodër Police; Alfred Ndoj (in charge of SPZ); Zamir Mehaj (in charge of assistant specialist for police information and criminal archive); Petrit Florini and Fatmir Alia (both duty officers of the General Patrol), are the suspended ones. 

They are accused of the criminal offense "Abuse of duty", since in 2021, after checking the territory of the villages of Curak and Shkozë, in Pukë, they declared that they did not find cultivated narcotic plants, while a few days later, in these areas 4,000 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa plants have been found cultivated. 

"The Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police has suspended from duty, 5 police officers of the structures under the Shkodra Local Police Directorate, specifically: 

Commissioner E. P. (former head of the Section for the Investigation of Crimes, at the Pukë Police Station), currently acting as head of the Section for Criminal Archives and Quality of Information, at Shkodër Police; 

Inspectors A. N. (in charge of SPZ), P. F. (in charge of assistant specialist for police information and criminal archive), Z. M. and F. A. (both in charge of officers of the General Patrol), at the Pukë Police Station. 

The suspension of these employees from duty was made in implementation of the decision of the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Shkodër, which has set the security measure "Suspension of the exercise of a duty or public service", for the criminal offense "Abuse of duty". ", since in 2021, after checking the territory of the villages of Curak and Shkozë, in Pukë, they declared that they did not find cultivated narcotic plants, while a few days later, 4000 suspected narcotic plants were found cultivated in these areas cannabis sativa," the police informed.
