General Police Director of Kosovo Resigns
The General Director of the Kosovo Police, Samedin Mehmeti, has resigned this Tuesday. The news was announced on Tuesday by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xelal Sveçla, through a post on Facebook.

"Today, during the day, I accepted the request for resignation from Mr. Samedin Mehmeti, Director of the Kosovo Police. This request according to Mr. Mehmeti came after the last case of rape of the 11-year-old girl, for personal reasons and professional conscience", wrote Sveçla.
The minister announced that Fehmi Hoti has been appointed in his place.
"Prime Minister Kurti has already dismissed Mr. Mehmeti and appointed as Acting General Director Mr. Fehmi Hoti, Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police. On this occasion, I thank Mr. Mehmeti for his commitment and good cooperation so far, and I wish him success in his future duties in the Kosovo Police."
