PM Meloni Shares Rama's Response to Critics of Migration Deal
The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, has reacted to the Italian Democratic Party's request for the exclusion of the Socialist Party from the European Socialist Party (PES), after the signing of the agreement on immigrants, as she published a video of Prime Minister Edi Rama on Instagram. In the published footage, Rama spoke about the show "Dritto e Rovescio" of Italian television, Rete4.
Meloni emphasizes that the answer of the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, was the right one.
"The Italian left is seeking to expel the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama from the European Socialist Parties for the agreement he signed with Italy for immigrants. Listen to his effective answer", writes Meloni on the "X" platform.
"I have to say that if it's the left in Italy that has… let's say it's a little over the line for a while, and I hope that's a closed issue, because they think is this arrangement is wrong. No, no, then I think that maybe it is not the left wing that helps Italy in this way and is saying okay, 'we also welcome immigrants', nor the right wing in Albania, because in Albania it is the right wing that tells us the same things", says Rama in the video shared by Meloni.
"So it's not about the left, it's not about the right wing, maybe it's just the right thing to do. We will see," he explains.
