Greece Extends Border Passing Restrictions with Albania
Hellenic government has decided Friday that entrance of citizens from Albania will be limited until August 31, 2020. Only 750 persons will be allowed to pass through Kakavija border and 300 persons from Kapshtica border, while everyone has to remain in 7-day quarantine except truck drivers.
All people entering Greece during 17-31 August must present their negative COVID-19 test that must have been done no more than 72 hours ago to customs authorities and travelers must be in possession of the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) and QR Code, the Greek Embassy in Albania noted.
“According to Greek government decision no. Δ1α / Γ.Π.οικ.51236 / 08.13.2020 (Government Gazette Β'3397), the restrictions for entry to Greece from Albania, are postponed until 31 August 2020.
According to decision of the Greek government no. Δ1α / Γ.Π.οικ.51244 /13.08.20 (Government Gazette Β '3399), except for entry into Greece holders of Greek passport / identity card, EDTO and residence permit, those who have their main residence in Greece and those who enter, with the relevant permission, for absolutely necessary professional reasons. The entry of the above is allowed from the border stations of Kakavia, with a daily limit of 750 people, and of Krystallopigi, with a daily limit of 300 people, from 7 in the morning until 11 in the evening, or by air (flight Tirana - Athens) according to the no. Δ1α / ΓΠ.οικ. 50682 / 11.08.20 (Government Gazette B '3362) Decision.
Persons who violate the quarantine measure, apart from provided criminal sanctions are fined by EUR 5,000. From 17 August until the 31 August, all those who enter Greece must present:
1) negative COVID test (by PCR method) which must have been done within the last 72 hours before arrival, by public or private laboratories certified by the Albanian authorities (does not apply to truck drivers transporting goods and children born from 2011 onwards)
2) diagnosis attestation in English, with name and passport / identity card number of the person
3) attestation of filling in the special PLF form, with QR code
Those who enter Greece for absolutely necessary professional travel and leave it, will not be able to re-enter the Greek Territory until the 31 Augustâ€, the Greek Embassy highlighted.
