Growth Fueled by Increase of Businesses, Turnover
The economic activity and the fiscal indicators have increased during 2026, while official data show an expansion of business turnover, an increase in the number of registered entities, and added revenues in the state budget.
According to data from the Ministry of Finance, budget revenues for the period 2025–2026 amount to Euro 1.2 billion, higher compared to 2024.
Another positive indicator is related to business activity. For the first 6 months of 2026, Albanian businesses have declared about Euro 3 billion more turnover, marking an increase of 7% compared to the first six months of 2025.
The number of registered businesses has also increased. By June 2026, the Tax Administration has registered 148,270 businesses, or 12% more than in the same period last year.
In the agricultural sector, during the period 1–27 July, 2,397 applications were submitted by farmers for 10% VAT compensation. The total amount requested for compensation amounts to Lek 587 million.
Data from fiscal institutions also indicate an expansion of economic activity and business formalization, with an increase in the base of entities that declare activity and contribute to public revenues.
According to statistics, an increase in health services in tourist areas is noted. In parallel with economic indicators, the provision of health services in tourist areas continues during the summer season.
According to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, during the period 20–26 July, 5,355 visits were made to summer health centers, of which 11% belonged to foreign vacationers.
Summer health centers are part of a special service organized during the tourist season, with the aim of guaranteeing access to health care for domestic and foreign vacationers.
The visit figures also show the intensity of the tourist flow in the areas where these centers are located, while the presence of foreign vacationers constitutes an important part of the demand for health services during the season.
