Internet:296K Subscriptions in Integrated Packages
To access the internet, many Albanians choose to subscribe to companies that offer bundled services, including internet, television, or home telephony. The latest data from the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP) show that, compared to last year, there has been an increase in the number of citizens and businesses using services from fixed networks—with the exception of fixed telephony.
Compared to the first quarter of 2024, this year more Albanians have installed devices that provide internet access at home. The number of subscribers with broadband internet access from fixed networks reached around 682 thousand, marking a decrease of 0.7% compared to the previous quarter, but an increase of approximately 7.1% compared to the same quarter in 2024.
Meanwhile, the number of users paying for combined services—telephone, internet, and television—at home or in their businesses reached about 296 thousand at the end of March. This represents a decrease of 1.1% compared to the last quarter of 2024, but an increase of 0.9% compared to the first quarter of 2024.
Among those choosing integrated packages, 47.6% subscribe to dual packages (internet and television), 29.9% pay a single company for dual packages (internet and telephone), while 22.5% subscribe to triple packages (internet, television, and telephone).
As for traditional wired phones, their use continues to decline. According to official statistics, the number of fixed-line subscribers at the end of the first quarter of 2025 was reported at around 159 thousand, reflecting a decrease of 6.8% compared to the same period last year.
