Italian Foreign Minister Threatened

Foreign Minister of Italy, Antonio Tajani, has been threatened through a letter that arrived in the last few hours at the Farnesina.

The news was reported by the Italian media, who say that this event follows recent attacks by anarchists on the Italian embassies in Berlin and Barcelona (and previously in Athens) and violent marches in Rome and Milan to demand the removal of Alfredo Cospito from 41 bis regime.

Meanwhile, the authorities have taken increased security measures to monitor the minister after the threats, but also the Italian institutions inside and outside the country.

The level of security has also increased for Italian diplomatic missions around the globe.

In the last few days, the undersecretary of Justice, Northern League, Andrea Ostellari, has been spotted by anarchists, and security escorts have been provided to him due to this.

Since the end of November 2022, extensive damage has been caused to Italian diplomatic buildings in Argentina, Bolivia, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland, where vandalism and explosive devices have been used.
