A fierce battle between the forces of the Kosovo Liberation Army and the Serbian forces took place in Llapushnik of Drenas on May 10, 25 years ago.

This battle is known as the Battle of Llapushnik Gorge, which kept going for three consecutive days and was one of the most glorious of Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

Llapushnik Gorge was kept by the KLA for months, allowing its fighters to move freely in a large part of the territory of Kosovo and this enabled them to organize and supply weapons.

The war fought in Llapushnik Gorge for the control of this area was the most important for the Kosovo Liberation Army, as it made the Pristina-Peja road impassable for the Serbian forces.
