Kosovo Commemorates Izbica Massacre Victims
Kosovo commemorates this Tuesday 24 years since the Izbica massacre, during which 147 men were singled out, killed and massacred, while the rest were deported out of the country.
Everything took place on March 28, 1999, when Serbian police and military forces surrounded thousands of civilians in the village of Izbica and nearby settlements.
Massacre of Izbica is one of the most serious crimes of the state of Serbia, where the mass murder, the desecration of the bodies and their burial, through satellite images, became world news.
Today, 24 years after this crime, none of the Serbian perpetrators and executioners came before local and international justice.
At 09:30, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani will pay tribute at the Memorial Complex in Izbica.
