Massive Fire in Gjirokastra, Risk of Missiles and Ammunition Blast

A large fire broke out this Tuesday on a plot of land in the "Zinxhiria" neighborhood of the city of Gjirokastra, southern Albania.

Firefighters immediately went to the scene, where they made it possible to avoid a deadly situation after facing the presence of three unexploded Chinese-made warheads, as well as a significant amount of ammunition.

Following this discovery, the police immediately went to the scene and removed the shells and ammunition which could have caused fatalities and injured if they had exploded.

However, the shells and ammunition were located near the residential area as they have been stationed there since 1997, clarified the specialists of the Criminal Police.
