Minister Inspects NFA's Task Force for Food Safety

The task force team of the National Food Authority (NFA) has started work to ensure food safety during the summer season, where consumption is even higher. 

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, inspected the work of this task force on the coast of Durrës, together with the Mayor of the Municipality, Emirjana Sako. 

"The NFA task force for the summer season, created as part of the national task force by order of the prime minister, started on June 26 and will be active until the end of September. There are 100 inspectors divided into 35 groups and distributed in all 12 districts. The measures will have the same importance both in all cities of Albania. So the intensity of attention will be on the coast in Durrës, Lezhë, Vlora or Saranda, as well as in Tirana, Berat, Krujë, Shkodër, Korçë or Gjirokastër. From the risk analysis, 6,000 entities have been selected which will be supervised, including hotels, restaurants, pastry shops and supermarkets," said Krifca. 

Jeta Deda, the General Director of NFA stated that the main objectives of these controls are counseling and guaranteeing the right trading conditions. 

The object of the controls will be the hygienic-sanitary conditions, storage and trading conditions and the implementation of the legislation regarding the safety of food products. The task force will be on the ground until the end of September, which coincides with the end of the summer season.
