Nearly 1,000 Police Officers Engaged for Ex-US President's Arrival
About 1,000 officers will be engaged in total for the smooth running of security measures during the visit of former US President Bill Clinton this Monday to Albania. Of which around 400 officers will be from the guard and the rest from the state police, a group of 'Eagle' forces, one from Rapid Intervention Forces and one from RENEA will be engaged in all activities, from the arrival in Rinas to the escort to the premises of the prime minister's office.
Police services will be present on all the entrance and exit roads of the city of Tirana and on other roads inside the capital, in order to take measures to ensure and regulate traffic on alternative roads.
"Within the framework of the visit to Albania, of the former president of the USA, Mr. Bill Clinton, the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, with the support of the General Directorate of the State Police, has taken a series of detailed measures for the safety of Mr. Clinton, starting from Rinas airport, escort to Tirana to the places where the meetings will take place, accommodation and escort to Rinas, at the end of the visit.
One of the measures of the detailed plan consists in ensuring the passage of the former president of the United States of America, Mr. Bill Clinton, who will hold meetings on July 3 and 4, 2023, in the city of Tirana.
In this context, the State Police informs the citizens that there will be blockages of some road segments, as well as partial blockages of some other segments, depending on the meetings and activities that will take place during these two days, in Tirana.
Drivers should use the secondary road from Vora, to drive towards Rinas airport, since on 03.07.2023, from 14:00 to 15:30, the roads will be blocked:
From Rinas - Kafa e Kashari - Overpass to Casa Italia - underpass to former "Shqiponja" square.
Also, these roads will be blocked on 04.07.2023, from 13:30 to 15:30.
Other roads that will be blocked are:
"Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, from the intersection of the Ministry of the Interior to "Mother Teresa" square, "Ismail Qemali" street, "Pope John Paul II" street, "Ibrahim Rugova" street and "Free Ukraine" street. The State Police asks for the citizens' understanding of the measures it has taken and will implement on July 3 and 4," the police informed.
