Norway Sending Eight Leopard 2 Tanks to Ukraine

Norway is sending eight Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine to bolster its military strength in the war against Russia.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said today that "it is more crucial than ever to support Ukraine's fight for freedom".

In addition to the Leopard 2 tanks - which make up nearly a quarter of its total stock of the battle vehicles - Norway is set to provide four other special purpose tanks depending on what type of support Ukraine needs.

The country's defence ministry said it would also fund more ammunitions and any spare parts needed.

Ukrainian solders began training on the German-made Leopard 2 tanks in Poland this week.
