Parliamentary Elections, International Election Working Group Discussed Out-of-country Voting

With the next year’s parliamentary elections being scheduled to take place on 11 May 2025, preparations from all involved stakeholders are underway. 

Today, Head of the OSCE Presence Ambassador Michel Tarran hosted a special meeting of the International Election Working Group with the Heads of Missions of OSCE participating States and international organizations in Albania.

Invited as special guests, State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi and Director of the Out-of-Country Voting Directorate briefed participants on the current activity and ongoing preparations by the Central Election Commission (CEC) and answered their questions. A particular focus of the discussion was put on the implementation for the first time in Albania’s elections of the out-of-country voting. Commissioner Celibashi thanked the OSCE Presence and other international partners for their continuous support to the CEC.

The International Election Working Group is a forum initiated by the OSCE Presence in Albania, that meets periodically to exchange information and co-ordinate stances and assistance on electoral issues.
