PJIU Chair Celebrates Albanian Independence with Mayor of New York

The 110th anniversary of Independence was celebrated in New York in a ceremony organized by the associations Vatra headed by Ilmi Bajraktari and Albania Roots headed by Marko Kepi. 

Mayor of NY, Eric Adams, the chairman of PJIU, Shpëtim Idrizi and the ambassador of Albania to the USA Floreta Luli Faber were present at the flag raising ceremony. 

On this occasion, Idrizi held a conversation with Adams. He expressed his respect for Adams in recognition of his work in the service of this community. 

He further added that the existence of the Albanian state and its recognition in 1912 was supported by President Wilson and the Independence of Kosovo, an extraordinary achievement of this century was made possible thanks to the support of the USA. 

While Adams appreciated the work of the Albanian community and its integration into the American culture and experience.
