PM Denies Bizhga Could Be Albania’s Next President
Prime Minister Edi Rama has declared Monday that rumours claiming that Abania’s next potential President of the Republic could be Valentina Bizhga are not true.
In a press conference, the Head of Government underlined that the process of president’s election is a process that stimulates and that many names “get mixed up in the whirlpool of rumors” all kinds of people and all kinds of names.
“If we were to make weeks for rumors, Albania would carry the flag of the head of productive capacity, but I would like not to divert attention today from this initiative because it is new and special. I would not like to be distracted. I have said that this process of electing the president maximally stimulates rumors and mixes in the whirlpool of rumors all kinds of names and people most of the time without their desire at all, as is the case in question. My answer is negative regarding the concrete question. Because there is nothing real”, proclaimed PM Rama.
Few days ago, Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that Rama has chosen the most mafia procedure for the name of the president, adding that two thirds are for the name of Vali Bizhga.
"Edi Rama has chosen the most mafia procedures of names in secret envelopes. Which has emerged the most talked about name. I tell you. According to Edi Rama's statistics, two thirds of the secrets went to Vali Bizhga", declared Berisha.
On her part, Vali Bizhga, one of the closest associates of Prime Minister Edi Rama, at the time when he held the post of mayor of Tirana who later took the post of director of the cabinet of the Council of Ministers in 2013, is excluded from the list of names that can be considered as presidential candidates.
The Prime Minister gave the final answer today at a press conference. Bizhga was mentioned by Berisha according to him as a preferred name for presidents by the government, but for Rama this is a rumor.
