Prime Minister Edi Rama has congratulated Friday the 15th anniversary of the Independence of Kosovo through a short statement on the social networks. 

On Facebook, the head of the Albanian government also shared a picture of a little girl flying a Kosovo flag kite. 

"GOOD MORNING, Happy Independence", wrote Prime Minister Rama.

On his part, President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj resumed Thursday a two-day visit to the Republic of Kosovo, on the occasion of the celebration of the 15th anniversary of its independence. 

In his visit, the Albanian Head of State met with the highest leaders of Kosovo, such as President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, while he will also participate in several activities. 

On February 17, 2008, the Assembly of Kosovo unanimously declared Kosovo an independent sovereign and democratic state. 

For years, Kosovo Albanians suffered the consequences of ethnic cleansing by the Serbian regime of Slobodan Milosevic, which resulted in a Liberation War ('97-'99).
