PM Rama Says Vucic Has No Choice But to Attend EU Summit
Prime Minister Edi Rama has given a clear message to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, who earlier said that he will not participate in the Summit between the EU and the Western Balkans. According to Rama, participating is the only way Vucic has, as otherwise it would be disastrous for him and for Serbia.
Rama emphasized that the only one who will not be a part is the Prime Minister of Spain because his country celebrates Constitution Day.
"Only the prime minister of Spain will not be. He sent me an explanation by means of a letter. Spain has Constitution Day, and it is a day of great importance. You also know the internal tensions in Spain. His letter is supportive and sufficient for the impossibility of participation. Others will be present.
I am not moved by the statements of local or foreign politicians that are made for their own political purposes. Serbia will be at the summit and the president of Serbia has no other way but to come to the summit, I tell you this with conviction. The opposite would be a disaster for Serbia and himself," said Rama.
A few days ago, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic declared that no one from Serbia will be in Tirana at the EU-Western Balkans Summit on December 6 due to, as he said, the EU's "shameful" reaction to the appointment of Nenad Rasic as a minister in the Government of Kosovo.
