Portuguese Killer of Albanian Businessman Left in Jail

The Court of Rabat has set 40 days in prison for Ruben Saraiva, suspected of being the executor of businessman Ardian Nikulaj.

Within this period, the Albanian authorities must submit investigative materials with evidence and legal arguments through which to prove his involvement in the crime.

After being declared internationally wanted by the Albanian authorities, he was handcuffed on Monday, as soon as he arrived in Morocco, while the route of his movements after the incident was revealed.

Ruben Saraiva first passed the customs of Kapshtica towards Greece, traveled to the island of Rhodes, then to Malta and with the final destination Morocco, where his relatives also live.

From the moment of his arrest, he has been in custody, as the extradition process is expected to encounter difficulties because there is no extradition agreement between Albania and Morocco.

The Portuguese of Moroccan origin is suspected as the person who entered Ardian Nikulaj's bar on April 19, shooting him with 7 bullets from close range.

He was wearing a phosphorescent vest, thick clothes, a Covid mask and a motorcycle helmet.

At least 6 people participated in the businessman's murder, for whom the Lezha prosecutor's office says it has provided biological evidence for their involvement.

5 of the 6 accused have already been arrested, while the work for the capture of Harry Simpson continues.

The organizer of the murder scheme is suspected to be Edmond Haxhia, the cousin of Elton and Klodian Lekstakajt, who have been at enmity with the Nikulaj tribe since 1997.
