Prominent Albanian historian Llambro Filo has died Sunday due to COVID-19, at the age of 78. He had been hospitalized for several days and could not survive the virus because of other accompanying health issues.

There are suspicions that Filo was infected with a coronavirus during his vacation in Pogradec, as reported.

Nevertheless, the historian was a lecturer at the University of Tirana at the Faculty of History and Philology and is the author of many historical books and textbooks for pre-university education.
