Republican Guard Responds to Opposition's Accusations
The Guard of the Republic has responded to the accusations of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha that one of the guards who was behind MP Ervin Salianji was armed.
In the reaction to the media, it is stated that this claim is completely untrue and that none of the Guard employees had firearms inside the Parliament hall.
"Regarding the claim of some opposition MPs, that Guard employees were armed in the hall during the parliamentary session, the Guard of the Republic clarifies that:
This claim is completely untrue.
None of the employees of the Guard of the Republic, as provided by the legal basis in force, were equipped with firearms inside the hall where the works take place.
The Guard of the Republic remains determined to exercise all the responsibilities and duties assigned, in order to guarantee the law," it is stated in the notice.
