Scientific Publication Awards 2019-2021 Announced
The Academy of Sciences of Albania announced on Friday the annual national scientific awards on Friday.
Economics professors Anastas Angjeli and Adrian Civici, academicians, were awarded the "Eqrem Çabej" award for their work "Economic crisis in the time of the coronavirus", which was evaluated as a "study triptych that combines the works "Economic crisis in the time of the coronavirus", "In the face of the crisis - the challenges of economic theory and policies" and "Heading to a new crisis - energy, inflation, price increases, distortion of the markets", studying developments and confrontations of the Albanian economy in exceptional circumstances, in the conditions of the pandemic and crises recycled, which contains clear analyzes of the critical situations that the world and the country have gone through, with valuable recommendations for governing institutions and with warning assessments for facing the future".
The "Petrit Radovicka" award went to the work "Structural relief of Albania" by author Gjovalin Gruda.
The award was given with the motivation: "Monographic study in the field of geomorphology of Albania and physical geography as a whole, which deals for the first time with the structural relief of our country; based on the most modern scientific methods, which ensure its high level; written with responsibility, after a lifetime experience of knowing the specific and complicated terrain of the country".
The "Aleks Buda" award was given to the work "Parashqevi Qirjazi and her year 1919" by author Teuta Toskë with the motivation: “Study that contains in-depth research on the life and activity of the intellectual and activist Parashqevi Qirjazi, bringing facts and historical and linguistic evidence that become known for the first time; based on archival data and rare publications; work with treatments missing until now, which will serve as an incentive for other studies”.
