Seven Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Kosovo-Albania Border
Seven people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Saturday near the final stretch of the Ibrahim Rugova Highway, close to the Morina border crossing between Kosovo and Albania, authorities said.
The collision involved six vehicles and left several people injured, according to preliminary information from the scene.
Among the injured are a child and a woman who is seven months pregnant. All seven victims were transported by ambulance to the Regional Hospital in Prizren for medical treatment. Authorities have not yet released information on the severity of their injuries, and no fatalities have been reported.
Kosovo Police and emergency response teams arrived at the scene to assist the injured and secure the area.
The crash forced the closure of one lane of the highway in the Prizren-to-Morina direction, causing long traffic queues and significant delays. Police are managing traffic and have urged motorists to avoid the affected section if possible or follow instructions from officers on the scene.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation, with Kosovo Police expected to provide additional details once inquiries are completed.
