SPAK, Kosovo Prosecution Agree to Form Joint Investigative Unit

The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has reached an agreement with the Special Prosecutor's Office of Kosovo (PSRK). 

According to the agreement, signed by the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani and that of PSRK, Blerim Isufaj, the Joint Investigative Unit will be formed between the two countries, which will be composed of special prosecutors from both relevant prosecution offices. 

This agreement aims at close cooperation and coordination of the actions of both prosecutor's offices in important areas of the fight against crime. 

"The head of the Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime of the Republic of Albania (SPAK), Mr. Altin Dumani and the Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Blerim Isufaj have signed on October 10, 2023 in Pristina, an Agreement forming the Joint Investigative Unit, composed of special prosecutors from both respective prosecutor's offices. 

The purpose of signing this Agreement between the two heads of prosecution institutions foresees close cooperation and coordination of the actions of both prosecutions in important areas of the fight against crime. 

The head of the Special Prosecutor's Office, Mr. Dumani and the Chief Prosecutor of the PSRK, Mr. Isufaj, have assessed the signing of this Agreement as important, stressing that this is a step towards improving security and the rule of law in the two respective states, as well as towards building a strong partnership between the two justice institutions. 

The signatories of the Agreement pledged close cooperation in combating all forms of crime that affect the economic, financial and social interests of both countries," Isufaj said.
