SPAK Orders Search of Prison Sector Housing Suspect Ergys Agasi

The Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK) has ordered a search of the Bradashesh detention facility, in the sector where businessman Ergys Agasi is being held.

During the operation, authorities reportedly found and seized alcoholic beverages in the sector’s kitchen, along with several wireless devices that are now undergoing forensic examination.

The search was carried out on Saturday following operational information gathered by the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH), according to sources.

Agasi is accused of leading a structured criminal group allegedly operating within Albania’s National Agency of Information Society (AKSHI), as well as acting as a coordinator between criminal groups and the country’s prime minister. He was arrested in the Plepa area of Durrës after spending eight months on the run.

Businessman Ermal Beqiri, described by investigators as Agasi’s close associate, was previously arrested in France in connection with the case.
