SPAK Searches Tirana Municipality, Requests Erion Veliaj’s Official Travel Records and Expense Documents in 'Veliaj 2' Probe
The Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has carried out searches and document seizures at the premises of the Municipality of Tirana as part of an ongoing investigation known as the “Veliaj 2” case.
According to local media reports, SPAK investigators conducted checks at the municipality offices and collected documents related to the investigation.
Sources cited by Albanian media said investigators obtained records concerning official trips by Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, as well as documentation related to travel allowances and expenses.
The requested documents are expected to be reviewed as part of the ongoing investigative procedures, with authorities analysing the seized materials in the coming period.
The searches are part of the broader “Veliaj 2” investigation, which is being handled by SPAK. Authorities have not publicly disclosed further details about the scope of the latest investigative actions.
