SPAK Seizes Documents in Tirana Municipality as Part of 'Veliaj 2' Investigation
Albania's Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organised Crime (SPAK) has carried out searches at the Municipality of Tirana as part of its ongoing investigation into the case known as "Veliaj 2."
According to sources cited by News24, SPAK investigators searched municipal offices and seized documentation related to official trips undertaken by Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, as well as records concerning the travel allowances associated with those visits.
The sources said investigators requested the documents as part of the criminal investigation, with the seized materials set to undergo further analysis to determine their relevance to the case.
The searches were conducted within the framework of the "Veliaj 2" investigation, which remains ongoing. SPAK has not yet publicly disclosed additional details regarding the operation or the scope of the inquiry.
