The Speaker of the Assembly, Gramoz Ruçi stated this Saturday that facilitating life and improving workers' well-being through tax cuts, economic growth, job creation, increasing salaries and pensions, remains the priority of the ruling majority. 

This message of Ruci came as today marks International Workers' Day. While greeting all workers of Albania, Ruci declared in his message that workers are the best patriots, citizens and parents and that nothing strengthens Albania more than work, nothing educates children better than love for work. 

"Today is May 1, the day to honor the most wonderful people, the workers. Today I address you, the workers, with respect, who with your sweat and work ensure the well-being of families, raise and educate children and contribute to the development of Albania. 

I bow to you, women and men of Albania, who work in construction sites, tailors, factories, hospitals, greenhouses, fields, small businesses and wherever it is worked, built, produced and served. 

I honor you, dear pensioners, who have built Albania, and I do not hide the pledge that we have not yet been able to return the respect we have for you with pensions, conditions and services as good as we and you want. 

Today we are all workers. Today we recall that labor values ​​are above all. Work is the engine that pushes the economy forward, increases the well-being of families, fights poverty and creates opportunities for the younger generation. Energy, talent, creative spirit and determination have built the foundations of well-being, freedom and achieving happiness for generations of Albanians. 

Workers are the best patriots, citizens and parents. Nothing strengthens Albania more than work, nothing educates children better than the love for work. Albania progresses only from work and working people. 

Nothing honors the Albanian Parliament and Government more than caring for ordinary and working people. Therefore, making life easier and improving your well-being through tax cuts, economic growth, job creation, wage and pension increases remains our priority. 

We respect those who create jobs. But we give more respect to those who work and build the economy of Albania every day. Our mind as the governing legislator is at work, our heart is at the working people. Every job has dignity, every worker is valuable to society. 

Wages and working conditions should help the well-being and nurture the dignity of working families. Increasing the minimum wage to ALL 40.000, increasing pensions and doubling the bonus for pensioners are not privileges, but the fulfillment of obligations to them. The dignity of wages and working conditions demonstrates the integrity of society. 

The reduction of taxes on low wages, the reduction of taxes on other wages as well as the reduction of profit tax and VAT for small businesses for a period of 10 years are measures to support the working people of this country. 

You showed a high spirit of resilience in dealing with the consequences of the pandemic, which particularly weighed on you and your children. The Assembly and the Government will do their best to get out of the pandemic and to facilitate and accelerate it and you to enjoy in your families ", emphasized Ruci.
