SSA to Investigate Structures that Manage Firefighting in Albania

The Supreme State Audit (SSA) has been set in motion to investigate the structures that manage firefighting in Albania.

Sources said that SSA inspectors will be in all problematic cities where there are fires, which are suspected to be intentional, including Vlora and Fier where the situation is worse.

The control will aim at verifying the management that is being done for firefighting, starting from the use of equipment as well as the organizational side.

SSA will also verify tenders for firefighting equipment and other links of civil emergencies, if they are physically compatible with those purchased and their absence during operations. If the audit finds violations, there will be referrals to the prosecution.

Currently, entire areas in the country are being burned, while the most problematic is the situation in Karaburun where the fire is approaching the park of Llogara, as well as the waste field in Fier.
