Supported by Mane Foundation, Students and Professionals Will Soon Have an IT Dictionary

The Dictionary of Information Technology is expected to be released soon, supported by Mane Foundation. The dictionary is the result of several years of research by professor Erion Çano and translator Edmond Tupja. This publication is considered an in-depth study with 6,000 words, offering not only English-Albanian translations but also Albanian-English ones.

Details were shared during a meeting between the co-authors and Samir Mane, the founder of Mane Foundation.

Samir Mane announced that Mane Foundation will donate copies of the dictionary to educational institutions such as Tirana Business University and the Polytechnic University of Tirana. He also emphasized that the IT dictionary will be an important educational and professional communication tool, which will especially help preserve the Albanian language.

He added that the dictionary will also be part of the IT Department library at BALFIN Group, serving as an additional source of knowledge for their IT specialists.

“The Dictionary of Information Technology is a big help to preserve the language in a fast-moving field like technology. This dictionary will protect the language without stopping technological progress. It is a valuable contribution not only for researchers and technology users but for everyone, as we all regularly use digital and technological tools”, said Samir Mane.

Erion Çano, an expert in computer linguistics, described the dictionary as the result of long research work and said, “Including 6,000 words and bilingual translations makes the dictionary unique and very useful for students and professionals.”

Edmond Tupja said the work is a joint effort to avoid language barbarisms. “The Albanian language is not poor at all. On the contrary, using the right terms is necessary to protect the richness of our language.”

Education is a key focus of Mane Foundation’s work. Since its founding in 2023, the foundation has supported many projects and initiatives to improve the education system, curricula, and infrastructure. These include setting up modern laboratories in universities across the country, renovating kindergartens and nine-year schools, and engaging BALFIN Group professionals to share their experience in universities.

Mane Foundation centers its work on initiatives that bring real positive changes to society. The publication of the Dictionary of Information Technology is seen as an initiative that will properly prepare students for the job market, deepen professionals' knowledge by providing a trusted technological resource, and bring them closer to the Albanian language.

The Dictionary of Information Technology is expected to be published in November 2025.
