TIA’s Passenger Numbers Rise 14% y/y in Aug
Tirana International Airport (TIA), the operator of the airport in Albania's capital, said on Monday it served 1,413,064 passengers in August.
The airport handled 1,245,279 passengers in August 2024, according to earlier disclosed information.
In August 2025, airlines operated 8,106 flights from Tirana to 108 destinations, TIA said in a LinkedIn post. In 2024, Tirana airport welcomed 10.7 million passengers, a 48% increase from the previous year.
Airport traffic in Albania is experiencing significant and rapid growth, with Tirana airport recording record numbers of passengers and flights. This surge is driven by increased foreign tourism and economic development.
Factors contributing to this trend include expanded air routes, increased airline services, infrastructure investment at TIA, and Albania's growing international appeal.
