Tirana Municipality Informs on New Traffic Rules
New traffic rules introduced in the capital city of Albania. The Municipality of Tirana has decided to stop the circulation of heavy vehicles inside the Small Ring Road from 7 in the morning until 20 in the evening, otherwise the drivers of these vehicles will be punished with a fine of up to 10 thousand ALL, even the revocation of the license.
According to the announcement of the Municipality of Tirana, these measures are taken to discipline traffic. Exceptions to these traffic restrictions are emergency service vehicles, firefighters and urban public transport vehicles inside the Small Ring Road of the city.

All drivers of vehicles will have to be careful not to violate the new traffic rules in the capital, unless they want to receive a large fine or have their license revoked.
In order to discipline traffic at the beginning of 2022, especially in the early morning hours, the Municipality of Tirana has decided to stop the circulation of heavy vehicles inside the Small Ring Road of the city from 07:00 in the morning until 20:00 pm. The fines will continue from 5000 ALL to 10 000 new ALL, while there will be additional measures that go as far as the revocation of the driving license. Thus, all drivers of means of transport of goods that do not respect the prohibition of circulation of vehicles except: vehicles, emergency service vehicles, firefighters and urban public transport vehicles inside the Small Ring of the city, with a time limit 07:00 - 20:00 will be fined with 5000 ALL up to 10 000 new ALL.
The same fine is for those drivers of freight transport who do not respect the traffic ban from 07:00 - 09:00 in the Middle Ring Road of the city, inside it, as well as in the main access axes to it, including and streets "Sulejman Delvina", "Abdyl Frashëri", "Ismail Qemali", "Rruga e Elbasanit" and Boulevard "Bajram Curri".
Zero tolerance also for those drivers of vehicles with a total load over 3.5 tons, which will continue to circulate from 09:00 - 20:00 in the Middle Ring Road of the city, inside it, as well as on the axes main entrance to it, including the streets "Sulejman Delvina", "Abdyl Frashëri", "Ismail Qemali", "Rruga e Elbasanit" and Boulevard "Bajram Curri". Even these executives risk revoking the patent and in the best case a fine from 5000 ALL to 10 000 ALL.
Fines will also be faced by those drivers of vehicles with a total load of over 18 tons that circulate inside the Great Ring Road of the city, as well as in the main entrance axes from 06:00 to 20:00.
The changes also affect the circulation of heavy vehicles at the entrance of Tirana. Thus, in the street "29 Nëntori" (Square "Shqiponja" to Kthesa e Kamzës), only in the entrance direction to the city will be prohibited the circulation of vehicles with a total load over 7.5 tons, with a restriction from 06:00 - 20: 00. All drivers caught apparently not respecting the new traffic rules will be fined with 5000 lek up to 10 000 new lek and may lose their driving license for up to 12 months.
There will be sanctions for violators of article 15/1 of the Road Code who pollute the roads through wheels, as well as pour inerts or concrete from technological vehicles. When it is not a criminal offense, the drivers of these vehicles will be fined from 25,000 to 100,000 ALL. The above violation is accompanied by additional administrative measures to restore the initial situation in charge of the perpetrator of the violation and at his own expense.
There will also be penalties for those individuals who carry out works, or throw debris on the road without permission, blocking the circulation of other vehicles. The fine in such cases will be 10000 - 40000 ALL.
Meanwhile, there will be penalties for drivers who circulate in minor offenses, or are badly positioned on the road. On main roads of category A and B heavy and slow vehicles must use the right lane. Violators will be punished with an administrative measure with a fine from 2,000 - 6,000 ALL. As a result of this violation, additional administrative measures are taken with the suspension of the driving license from 2 to 6 months. If the violation is repeated, the driving license is suspended for 4 to 12 months.
