UAE Citizen Arrested in Tirana Airport for Smuggling Immigrants

Following the actions of the specialists for the Investigation of Illegal Trafficking in Tirana, 13 citizens, resident in Bangladesh, were prosecuted for the criminal offense "Illegal border crossing".

Pursuant to the plan of measures to prevent and crack down on the illegal activity of providing assistance to foreign nationals for illegal border crossing and their transit in the Albanian territory, destined for EU countries, the specialists for Investigation of Illegal Trafficking in Tirana, in cooperation with the Rinas Border Police Commissariat, based on the information provided on the operational road, successfully finalized the operation codenamed "GUIDE", in which the arrest of the citizen was made:
A. D., 36 years old, resident in the United Arab Emirates, for the criminal offense "Assistance in illegal border crossing" committed in collaboration.
Investigations have shown that this citizen in cooperation with other persons from the United Arab Emirates, under the auspices of a travel company, provided the travel of resident citizens in the United Arab Emirates to Albania, who then provided assistance to leave illegally towards EU countries.
Following the actions of the specialists for the Investigation of Illegal Trafficking in DVP Tirana, 13 citizens, resident in Bangladesh, were prosecuted for the criminal offense "Illegal border crossing", namely:
O. M., 30, M. S., 24, M. H., 24, A. A., 26, R. Sh., 21, Sh. A., 38, T. M., 32, K. K., 37, J. A., 31, F. H., 33, A. S., 23, M. R., 24, and R. A., 24.
Work continues to identify other persons involved in this criminal activity. The procedural materials were forwarded to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance in Tirana, for further action.
